The Paxton Tigers were the 61-29 winner over the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Paxton fell 44-33 to Anselmo-Merna on Thursday.
Despite the loss, Paxton still got an impressive performance from Tommy Markussen, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
Paxton's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Anselmo-Merna, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paxton will challenge Medicine Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Anselmo-Merna, they will head out on the road to face off against Sandhills Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sandhills Valley and Anselmo-Merna are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
