The Sharyland Rattlers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sharyland also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Leading Sharyland to victory were Grace Shahin and Mariajose Campos. Shahin scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Campos scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Mia Bargas was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Sharyland's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sharyland will take on Vela at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vela will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest will be home for the holidays to greet Rowe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rowe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest in Texas (Rowe is ranked 494th, while Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest is ranked 1423rd).
