The North Posey Vikings were the 48-31 winner over the Tell City Marksmen when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. North Posey fell 45-37 to Tell City on Saturday. North Posey has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
North Posey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ella Weatherholt, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle jo Johnson, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Tell City found their leader in underclassman Reese Ford, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Ollie Toothman was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
North Posey has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Tell City, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Posey will take on Forest Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tell City, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Perry Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th.
