The Athens Indians will head out on the road to take on the Quincy Orioles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Friday, things could have been worse for Athens, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-33 loss to Concord.
Meanwhile, Quincy lost to Concord at home by a decisive 47-30 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Quincy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while Concord is ranked 223rd).
Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Quincy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
Athens came up short against Quincy when the teams last played back in February of 2017, falling 41-35. Can Athens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
