Basketball Game Preview: Langtree Charter Academy Lions vs. Christ the King Crusaders

Langtree Charter Academy is 1-7 against Christ the King since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Langtree Charter Academy Lions will square off against the Christ the King Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. Langtree Charter Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Langtree Charter Academy ended up a good deal behind Community School of Davidson and lost 70-56. The Lions were down 57-37 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Langtree Charter Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Martynas Petrauskas, who posted 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks, and Anthony Nesbit, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 17 points along with five boards and three steals. That's the most boards Nesbit has posted since back in December of 2023. Carlson Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Christ the King lost 67-41 to Lincoln Charter on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crusaders have suffered against the Eagles since January 11, 2022.

Langtree Charter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Christ the King, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Langtree Charter Academy ended up a good deal behind Christ the King when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 63-44. Thankfully for Langtree Charter Academy, Parker Ryan (who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
