The Fruitport Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coopersville. Fruitport has not had much luck with Coopersville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grace Sweet, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhiannon Raleigh, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Fruitport's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-4. As for Coopersville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fruitport will take on Allendale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Allendale is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Coopersville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Unity Christian at 7:30 p.m. Unity Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Coopersville in Michigan (Unity Christian is ranked 114th, while Coopersville is ranked 322nd).
