While Emerald Ridge's victory against Olympia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jaguars had just enough and edged out the Bears 17-16 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since May 24, 2025.
The team relied heavily on Jayda Guadron, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Payton Robillard, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Emerald Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Yelm suffered their biggest defeat since May 23, 2025 on Monday. They came up short against Puyallup, falling 14-3.
Bailey Mounts made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run was her first of the season.
Emerald Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Yelm, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Emerald Ridge's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Jaguars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Yelm, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Emerald Ridge continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Emerald Ridge's way against Yelm when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Emerald Ridge made off with an 11-0 win. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tornados turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
