Terre Haute South Vigo hasn't had much luck against Columbus North recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Braves will host the Bull Dogs at 6:00 p.m.
Terre Haute South Vigo is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-4 to Terre Haute North Vigo, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Marcia Parker led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lakyn Hadley, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Columbus North came into Thursday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Perry Meridian on Thursday as they made off with a 15-7 victory. Considering the Bull Dogs have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Payton Morris was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Morris was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Morgan Jarvis and Miley McClellan did most of the damage at the plate: Jarvis went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while McClellan went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Jarvis has posted since back in May of 2024. Ali Wooten was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Columbus North's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
