The Butte County Pirates won the last time they faced the Raft River Trojans, and things went their way on Friday too. Butte County came out on top against Raft River by a score of 51-42. Given Butte County's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Raft River is ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Butte County was led to victory by Brody Westergard and Koden Krosch. Westergard scored 15 points along with six assists and three steals, while Krosch dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Westergard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rafe McAffee, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Butte County pushed their record up to 16-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Raft River, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
Butte County will be playing in front of their home fans against Challis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Raft River, they will head out on the road to challenge Glenns Ferry at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Raft River is facing Glenns Ferry at the right time seeing as Glenns Ferry is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
