After a string of seven wins, The Sabetha Bluejays''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Nemaha Central, falling 28-0. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sabetha in their matchups with Nemaha Central: they've now lost four in a row.
Nemaha Central was led to victory by Caleb Strathman and Carter Hajek. Strathman gained 125 total yards and two touchdowns, while Hajek rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Hajek is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last eight games he's played.
Sabetha's loss dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Nemaha Central, their win was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sabetha will take on Atchison County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nemaha Central, they will be playing at home against Pleasant Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant Ridge is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
