Last Tuesday, Williams Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Bulldogs, but they still walked away with a 56-51 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Williams Valley's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 163rd).
Meanwhile, Mahanoy Area put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Nativity BVM by a score of 71-58.
Williams Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Mahanoy Area, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-0.
Williams Valley came up short against the Golden Bears in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 51-39. Can Williams Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
