Westside can attribute much of their success to Keylan Powell, who rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and Bear Woods, who threw for 322 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt. The Rams are 6-1 when Powell posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise.
Westside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kwon Simpkins and Jacob Lewis.
Meanwhile, Camden hadn't done well against Daniel recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bulldogs really took it to the Lions for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-14 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-7.
Camden's win came from a few key players Westside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Isaiah Smith, who picked up 72 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 57 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Greyson Rimpf was another key signal caller, throwing for 162 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes.
Camden's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Westside, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Westside has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 183.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Camden struggles in that department as they've been averaging 193 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Westside against Camden in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-7 victory. In that game, the Rams amassed a halftime lead of 42-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
