They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Altamont Knights at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Jefferson Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Jefferson Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 57-26 win over Ragland at home. Jefferson Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.
Jefferson Christian Academy relied on the efforts of Jada Washington, who scored 19 points, and Allison Wormely, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wormely has scored at least a third of Jefferson Christian Academy's points.
Meanwhile, Altamont's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 39-23 bruising from Cornerstone. Altamont has not had much luck with Cornerstone recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Madison Goldberg, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Jefferson Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Altamont, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Friday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Jefferson Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.3 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Altamont, though, as they've been averaging only 14.6 rebounds per game. Given Jefferson Christian Academy's sizeable advantage in that area, Altamont will need to find a way to close that gap.
Jefferson Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Altamont in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, winning 53-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
