Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, a fact the Peyton Panthers proved on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-38 win over Thomas MacLaren School. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Peyton also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Ayden Breese continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brian Keairnes, who scored six points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Thomas MacLaren School lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nathaniel Stokes, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Mathews, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds.
Peyton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. As for Thomas MacLaren School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Peyton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Meloneers at 4:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Rocky Ford is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Thomas MacLaren School, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Colorado Springs Christian is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
