The Landon Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 76-55 defeat at the hands of Georgetown Prep. While losing is never fun, Landon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Little Hoyas are ranked fifth).
Aristeides John Hobson and Francis Mannino certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. John Hobson scored 21 points along with five steals, while Mannino almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points John Hobson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Coleman, who scored five points along with seven assists and four steals.
Landon has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Georgetown Prep, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Landon will take on the Maroon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Georgetown Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in St. Albans' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 15 contests.
