Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain Pointe). They enjoyed a cozy 57-41 victory over the Maricopa Rams on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Pride as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Leading Mountain Pointe to victory were Amora Mask and Nia Rowe. Mask went 7 for 16 on her way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals, while Rowe posted 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those seven steals gave Mask a new career-high. Anayah McNeal also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Mountain Pointe was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maricopa only posted six assists.
Maricopa's loss came despite strong showings from Kaliha Norwood and Jenifer Gordoa. Norwood almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Gordoa had six points and 13 boards.
