In what's become a running theme this season, the Hoggard Vikings gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past New Hanover 60-39. Winning may never get old, but Hoggard sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Sarah Elgart was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Shivers, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and four steals.
Hoggard's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.67 points. As for New Hanover, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Hoggard will head out on the road to face off against South Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Brunswick is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for New Hanover, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. West Brunswick will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while New Hanover is ranked 51st).
