Baseball Recap: Kenowa Hills Has No Trouble Against Grand Haven

Kenowa Hills barely beat Grand Haven the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights blew past the Buccaneers 14-4 on Saturday. Considering the Knights have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex Menzel was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Peebles, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Kenowa Hills' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Grand Haven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Kenowa Hills will face off against Greenville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Grand Haven, they will square off against East Kentwood at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
