Baseball Recap: Make It Ten in a Row for Alexander Christian Academy

Alexander Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Shining Light Academy Knights 25-1. Considering the Crusaders have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Zach Davidson looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Alexander Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Emery Gonzalez, who went 3-for-4 with five runs, five RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Landyn Cupp, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

Alexander Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Alexander Christian Academy pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.1 runs this season. As for Shining Light Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Alexander Christian Academy will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Asheboro Hybrid Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.53 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Shining Light Academy, they will challenge True Gospel Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Grizzly have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
