It was a good run, but the Banneker Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 69-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roosevelt. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (62), Banneker still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Banneker still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Shelton, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Shelton hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Burley, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Banneker struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Roosevelt pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
Leading Roosevelt to victory were Jawuan Carter and Gabriel Hudgens. Carter scored 20 points, while Hudgens scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Antonio Moorer, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Banneker's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
