If the Gowanda Panthers were feeling good off their 63-43 takedown of the Cattaraugus-Little Valley Timberwolves on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Gowanda suffered a tough 66-41 defeat at the hands of Eden on Friday. Gowanda was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eden apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.
Among those leading the charge was Chris Krencik, who scored 23 points along with 5 steals. Krencik is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Wakelam, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Gowanda's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Eden, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gowanda will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Cassadaga Valley at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. As for Eden, they will take on Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
