The Shelby Valley Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Pike County Central Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Shelby Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Wednesday, Shelby Valley came up short against the Tigers and fell 60-52.
Meanwhile, Pike County Central had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-36 victory over Belfry.
Shelby Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6. As for Pike County Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Shelby Valley couldn't quite finish off the Hawks when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 43-41. Can Shelby Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
