Having just played yesterday, the Roxana Shells will head out on the road to face off against the Chester Yellowjackets at 10:30 a.m. on December 28th. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Roxana and seven for Chester.
On Wednesday, Roxana suffered a tough 49-24 defeat at the hands of Richland County. Roxana has struggled against Richland County recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Roxana saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Michael Silas, who scored six points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Silas has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Evan Wells, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chester's game on Wednesday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 61-51 to Meridian.
Roxana has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Chester, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-9.
Roxana didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Chester in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. Does Roxana have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chester turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
