The Spring Grove Lions stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. Everything went their way against Houston as Spring Grove made off with a 65-44 win. Winning may never get old, but Spring Grove sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spring Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kinley Soiney, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Soiney is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emerson Ingvalson, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Several Hurricanes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Kingsley, who scored 21 points. Kingsley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Emily Botcher was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Spring Grove's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Grove will take on Lanesboro at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Houston, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Waukon at 7:15 p.m.
