Considering Crown Point has won five games by more than 25 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Crown Point to victory were Reese Pertak and Trevor Harris. Pertak scored 34 points along with eight assists and four steals, while Harris dropped a double-double on 38 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Harris has scored at least 25% of Crown Point's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Carey, who scored seven points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Seton Catholic Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aiden Pearl. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was Pearl's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Seton Catholic Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Crown Point racked up 25 assists.
The win was the third in a row for Crown Point, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42 points. As for Seton Catholic Central, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Crown Point will take on Bolton Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Bolton Central is ranked 451st, while Crown Point is ranked 429th). As for Seton Catholic Central, they will be playing at home against Boquet Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Boquet Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
