The Orange Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Western Alamance Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Orange focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
Orange suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 66-42 defeat at the hands of Eastern Alamance. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Orange has suffered against Eastern Alamance since February 2, 2022.
Evelyn George put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Alexis Stephens was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four blocks.
Meanwhile, Western Alamance had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 79-38 win over Southern Alamance on the road. Western Alamance has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Western Alamance, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Orange came out on top in a nail-biter against Western Alamance in their previous meeting on January 3rd, sneaking past 45-42. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Western Alamance's Xiomara Moser, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
