Brimley is 9-1 against Newberry since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Brimley Bays will head out on the road to face off against the Newberry Indians at 2:00 p.m. Hopefully Brimley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Brimley suffered a rough 72-48 defeat at the hands of Rudyard. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Brimley has scored all season.
Brimley's loss came about despite a quality game from Perry LeBlanc, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The game was LeBlanc's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jay Tagerson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Newberry scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Cedarville by a score of 55-45. The win was some much needed relief for Newberry as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Brimley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Newberry, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
Everything came up roses for Brimley against Newberry in their previous matchup back in February as the team secured a 66-31 win. Does Brimley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Newberry turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
