Athens had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past the Muscle Shoals Trojans 14-1. Considering the Golden Eagles have won 17 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Athens' win bumped their record up to 25-16-1. As for Muscle Shoals, they dropped their record down to 12-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Athens didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-9 defeat against Hartselle on the 4th. As for Muscle Shoals, they have also already played their next game, a 10-2 victory against Decatur on the 4th.
