If the Pontiac Indians were riding high off their 75-31 takedown of the Hall Red Devils last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pontiac took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Prairie Central on Friday. Pontiac was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Prairie Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March.
Prairie Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Levi Goad, who scored 24 points. The matchup was Goad's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Tyler Curl was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds.
Pontiac's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4. As for Prairie Central, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Pontiac won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Streator at 5:15 p.m. on December 16th. Streator is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. Prairie Central will be home for the holidays to greet Peoria Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peoria Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Prairie Central is ranked 52nd).
