Basketball Recap: Wilson Central Comes Up Short

Wilson Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 60-48 to the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Wilson Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brylee Fly went 6 for 11 en route to 18 points. That's the most points Fly has posted since back in November of 2024. Kylie Moss was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Wilson Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Stewarts Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Wilson Central and Stewarts Creek should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Wilson Central (ranked 133rd) will meet Smyrna (ranked 288th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilson Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Stewarts Creek will face off against LaVergne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 221 places (73 vs. 294).
