The Kendrick Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Potlatch Loggers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kendrick has given up an average of 14.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Last Friday, Kendrick came up short against Clearwater Valley and fell 11-8. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ashna Casto made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Potlatch had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Rams. The Loggers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Brieanna Winther looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Hayley McNeal was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Lusby, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Potlatch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clearwater Valley only posted a batting average of .211.
Potlatch's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Kendrick, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Kendrick skirted past Potlatch 11-9 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Loggers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
