After losing to the Columbus Discoverers the last time they met, the Fremont Tigers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Fremont managed a 52-47 win over Columbus on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fremont.
Fremont found their leader in underclassman Coriahnn Gallatin, who scored 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gallatin has scored at least 25% of Fremont's points. Colin Ridder was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Fremont's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Columbus, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Fremont will be playing at home against Lincoln East at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lincoln East focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Thursday. Columbus' road trip will continue as they head out to face Pius X at 4:30 p.m. on January 6th. Pius X knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Columbus likes a good challenge.
