The North Smithfield Northmen took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday (barely). In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 38-37 victory over Lincoln. This was payback for North Smithfield, who suffered a 37-31 loss the last time these two teams met.
Olivia Labonte was the offensive standout of the match as she scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Silveira, who scored six points.
North Smithfield's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
North Smithfield will head out on the road to face off against Middletown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln will be home for the holidays to greet Pilgrim at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
