Bellaire extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Raekwon Pettigrew. The Bellaire Big Reds came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 61-57 W against the Harrison Central Huskies thanks in part to Pettigrew, who almost dropped a double-double with 37 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Bellaire's points.
The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Jewell, who to rack up 18 points and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024.
Bellaire now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Harrison Central, they dropped their record down to 7-16 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Coming up, Bellaire will square off against Garaway at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bellaire knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Garaway likes a good challenge. Harrison Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
