It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Rankin Red Devils can now relate to. They were beaten by Westbrook 72-22 on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rankin in their matchups with Westbrook: they've now lost five in a row.
Leading Westbrook to victory were Keegan Gilbreath and Grayson Jeffrey. Gilbreath gained 177 total yards and six touchdowns, while Jeffrey rushed for 239 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry.
Westbrook's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Ethan King was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Rankin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Westbrook, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Rankin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westbrook also has no future games currently scheduled.
