Last Friday, Southern Prep Academy faced Evangel Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Southern Prep Academy simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Evangel Christian Academy 58-20 at home. The result was nothing new for Southern Prep Academy, who have now won six contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Southern Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jahziyah Anderson led the charge by rushing for 188 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Kevin Mason, who threw for 97 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes.
Another reason for the win was Southern Prep Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Anderson and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Meadowview Christian had to endure a 20-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 52-42 win over Trinity Christian Homeschool two weeks ago. The win was just what Meadowview Christian needed coming off of a 72-6 loss in their prior match.
Southern Prep Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Meadowview Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Southern Prep Academy against Meadowview Christian in their previous matchup back in September as the team secured a 84-44 victory.
