The Woodland Beavers were the 68-62 winner over the Washougal Panthers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Woodland took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washougal on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Woodland has scored all season.
Washougal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alex Frost led the charge by scoring 14 points. Another player making a difference was Holden Bea, who scored 13 points.
Woodland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Washougal, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodland will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Silas at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washougal will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fort Vancouver at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
