Basketball Recap: Brooke Goudie and Brooklyn Mans Secure Win for Elmwood-Murdock

Elmwood-Murdock won the last time they faced Syracuse and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the Elmwood-Murdock Knights' way against the Syracuse Rockets as the Elmwood-Murdock Knights made off with a 51-31 victory. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Elmwood-Murdock to victory were Brooklyn Mans and Brooke Goudie. Mans went 7 of 15 on her way to 19 points along with five assists and three steals, while Goudie posted 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals. The matchup was Mans' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Hohman, who had seven points.

Elmwood-Murdock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Elmwood-Murdock's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Syracuse, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Elmwood-Murdock and Logan View/Scribner-Snyder will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Syracuse, they will head out to square off against Freeman at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th.
