St. Charles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-7 to the Merrill Vandals. On the bright side, the seven- run effort marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring game to date.
Rylee Cornford made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Zelinko, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
St. Charles' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Merrill, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-4.
