There's no place like home for the Albany Comets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Belmont on Thursday as Albany made off with a 53-31 victory. The victory was just what Albany needed coming off of a 63-34 loss in their prior match.
Several Braves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Kettler, who scored 16 points. Kettler scored a full 51.6% of Belmont's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Logan Hardyman, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.
The win got Albany back to even at 1-1. As for Belmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Albany will take on Barneveld at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belmont, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Monticello at 7:30 p.m.
