The Pymatuning Valley Lakers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 73-65 win over Harding. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Pymatuning Valley has managed all season.
It was another big night for Blake Krznaric, who shot 6-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. Krznaric also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Seth Bryan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Harding lost, one person who can't be blamed is James Gadomski. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Gadomski scored a full 44.6% of Harding's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yomar Castellano, who scored 18 points.
Pymatuning Valley's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points per game. As for Harding, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Pymatuning Valley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. John at 5:30 p.m. St. John will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Pymatuning Valley is ranked 135th). Harding will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Lordstown at 6:15 p.m. on December 12th. Lordstown comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
