Highlands extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 7 this week by beating Holmes, 71-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Bluebirds.
Highlands led the league in scoring this week by notching 71 points on the Bulldogs.
Covington Catholic's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ben Dressman threw for 321 and 3 touchdowns and Lee McClure had 121 yards receiving. On the ground Dressman chipped in 61 yards. Logan McDowell helped Covington Catholic's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 65 yards.
The Colonels' dynamic duo of Dressman and McClure proved to be unstoppable against Harrison County, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. McDowell helped Covington Catholic's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 65 yards.
He went 20-28 with 1 interception.
Harrison County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Thorobreds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Robbie Stroub has thrown for 1,541 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Justin Hunter has 36 catches for 600 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Covington Catholic takes on Holmes. David Wirth's team is currently in second, while Ben Nevels' team is in third.
