After a string of five wins, the Dillon Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Waccamaw by a score of 50-48. Dillon has struggled against Waccamaw recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Treasure Davis and Khwnylahi Mckinnon certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Davis scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Mckinnon dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 50% of Dillon's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Dillon's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Waccamaw, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Dillon will take on Georgetown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Georgetown comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Waccamaw, they will head out on the road to square off against Loris at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Loris is ranked 140th, while Waccamaw is ranked 153rd).
