After flying high against the White Oak Roughnecks on Tuesday, the Tatum Eagles came back down to earth. Tatum took a 80-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Porte on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Porte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caden Watson, who scored 22 points. Watson set a new season high mark in points with 22. The team also got some help courtesy of Phillip Ned, who scored 21 points.
Tatum's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for La Porte, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.
Tatum will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Troup at 7:45 p.m. on December 19th. La Porte and Kountze will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kountze is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
