The Wickenburg Wranglers are taking a road trip to square off against the Chandler Prep Titans at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Wickenburg has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Wickenburg came up short against Bagdad on Tuesday, falling 23-17. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (13), the Wranglers still had to take the loss.
Wickenburg got a massive performance out of Ariel Sprecher, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynlee Meister, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Chandler Prep entered their tilt with Miami on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Vandals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since April 17, 2024.
Kyra Tucker made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Tucker was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Giada Lowman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Elise Hirsch was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Chandler Prep pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.8 runs over those games. As for Wickenburg, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
