After flying high against the Medina Christian Academy Knights last Tuesday, the Brooklyn Hurricanes came back down to earth. Brooklyn was outmatched by Fairview on the road and fell 65-24. Having soared to a lofty 67 points in the game before, Brooklyn couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Brooklyn still got an impressive performance from Ashlyn Dyson, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 79.2% of Brooklyn's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Callahan, who scored no points along with 13 rebounds and four blocks.
Brooklyn's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Fairview, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
Brooklyn will be playing at home against Independence at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Independence is coming into the contest with three straight losses on the road, meaning Brooklyn will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Fairview, they will square off against Lutheran West at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Lutheran West will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Fairview surely won't give up without a fight.
