Dixie is 0-1 against Logan since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dixie Flyers will be playing at home against the Logan Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Two weeks ago, Dixie had to suffer through a rough 56-14 loss at the hands of Crimson Cliffs. Dixie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.
Jaxon Barben put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Dixie's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Anthony Crichton and his 2.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, Logan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their fifth straight loss. Their rough 39-15 defeat to Green Canyon might stick with them for a while. Logan was down 39-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
This is the second loss in a row for Dixie and nudges their season record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-3 Snow Canyon (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 80% over those games). As for Logan, their loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Dixie came up short against Logan in their previous matchup back in November of 2015, falling 26-15. Thankfully for Dixie, Hunter Horsley (who rushed for 280 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 178 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
