Downers Grove North (Downers Grove, Ill.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 29-13 win over
Thornton (Harvey, Ill.).

After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, DGN led 19-0 at the half.
The Downers Grove school expanded its lead to 29 points entering the fourth quarter. The Trojans scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal.
Downers Grove North's standout player in the win was
David Edwards. The sophomore quarterback ran for one touchdown.
DGN came in allowing an average of 21.3 points per game this season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Thornton, which notched a 23-21 victory over Thornton Fractional South in its previous outing.
