Softball Recap: Cosby Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Cosby came out on top against James River Midlothian on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fifth inning. The Titans put the hurt on the Rapids with a sharp 15-5 win. Considering the Titans have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cosby has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for James River Midlothian, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cosby is set to take on their familiar foe Midlothian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 2.9, the Trojans 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, James River Midlothian will square off against rival L.C. Bird at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
