The Van Buren Pointers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Siloam Springs 50-13 at home. Considering Van Buren has won three games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Van Buren's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trenton Cooley led the charge by picking up 237 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Perkins, who threw for 398 yards and four touchdowns while completing 86.2% of his passes.
Van Buren's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Siloam Springs, their loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10.
Van Buren will take on West Memphis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (West Memphis is ranked 22nd, while Van Buren is ranked 40th). Siloam Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
